The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Spanish government has positively resolved the project AUPA UMTS: Auto-Optimización de Parámetros de Configuración de Redes UMTS. The project started in April 2008 and is under the scope of the Avanza I+D program. The main objective is the analysis and optimization of UMTS/HSPA networks by means of algorithms that facilitate an automatic configuration of the radio access network (UTRAN). AUPA UMTS, with reference TSI-020100-2009-179, is co-financed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the FEDER (Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional).
